Beauty looks that ruled Paris Fashion Week

From minimal make-up at Christian Dior to glossy eyeshadow at Nina Ricci, there was plenty of beauty inspiration to be had at the Paris Fashion Week presentations. If you’re doubtful you can achieve these looks, think again – as they’re fairly straightforward. Read on for a breakdown of the biggest makeup trends the season had to offer.

Bare-faced beauty

A major trend at Paris Fashion Week was the no make-up look, with make-up artists using the bare minimum of product on models’ faces. At Christian Dior, Peter Phillips used Diorskin Forever to retouch the skin, a little Diorshow Iconic mascara on the lashes and a hint of balm on the eyelids for a subtle sheen, while models at Christophe Lemaire looked as if they weren’t wearing any foundation at all. To create a dewy complexion, opt for a quality beauty balm such as Vichy Idealia BB Cream, and tap gently under the eyes, around the nose and across the apples of the cheeks.

Bold lipstick

At the Acne show, models wore bold, groomed brows, minimal foundation and striking grey lips.
Makeup artist Aaron de Mey mixed three colors to create the moody shade, using M.A.C Deep Rooted lipstick, a lavender hue, and a taupe shade. Meanwhile at Olivier Theyskens models sported striking ruby red lipstick. Recreate the pout yourself using Estée Lauder Signature Hydra Lust Lipstick in Rich Red, a perfect red with flattering orange hue. Another pretty look was at the Paule Ka show, where models wore a deep pink lip stain. Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Raspberry provides a similar color, with the non-sticky oil also gently plumping lips.

Glossy eyelids

Glossy, colored lids were the beauty focus at Nina Ricci, with makeup artist Diane Kendal creating lilac, turquoise or peach shades for each model. Over at Giambattista Valli, some models sported a little glitter in silver or pink shadow in the crease of the eye for a show-stopping look. But it was the very beautiful Lanvin girls whose polished appearance we coveted the most, created with a subtle glitter wash on the lids. Try the look by swiping a little of Bobbi Brown’s Sparkle Eyeshadow in Silver Moon across the crease of the lid for an instantly updated beauty look.
